Every section of the institute works separately, however, some occasions like Teachers day, Saraswati pooja, Raksha Bandhan, Gandhi Jayanti, Social Gathering, Sports meet, etc. are celebrated jointly. These programmes help students to understand each other and there is better co-operation among students.
Students participate in drawing competition organised by Ponda Patrakar Sangh and Sneha Mandir of Bandiwade, Poster and nature picture competition organised by Education Department in connection with environment study. Our students have done well in general groups. Ms. Megha Haldankar won first prize at all Goa level.
The Inner Wheel Club, Ponda organises medical check up every year for the deaf and dumb students. They also organise competition and Raksha Bandhan for our students.
Every year Rotary Club of Ponda organises Independence day and flag hoisting ceremony.
Rotary Club of Ponda Hill Town sponsors sports meet every year. They organise flag hoisting ceremony on Goa’s Liberation Day. They organised a two day workshop for students and parents in 2003 and 2004. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Peter of USA.
Lions club of Ponda celebrates Gandhi Jayanti and Lal bahadur Shastri Jayanti on 2nd Oct. Different competitions are held on this day.
Prajyoy Gosavi, a student of blind school was operated upon by Dr. Tejashwini on behalf of Rotary Club of Mapusa on 10th Nov. 2004. Sameer Velip, another student was given special pair of spectacles.
All the students of the visually impaired school were taken for medical check up at Vrindavan Hospital, Mapusa on 12th December 2004. One student operated upon by Dr. Tejash wini under this programme got sight.
The students of Deaf and Dumb school presented a project on ‘Herberium of Medical plants to heal with home remedies’ under the scheme Nation Green Crops Programme (NGC) which was organised by Ministry of Environment & Forest, New Delhi and Directorate of Education, Govt. of Goa. The project as well as project report was appreciated by all.
Varad Parvatkar and Vishal Khandolkar, students of deaf and dumb school and Anil Naik from mentally challenged section participated in All Goa Drawing Competition organised by Cidade de Goa, Panaji and won first prize each.
Jitnyasa Theatres, Ratnagiri, organises special drama competition for handicap students. ‘Shuddha Panyach Shodh’, one act play presented by mentally handicapped students was highly appreciated by everyone.

Besides, these our students participate in different competitions like singing, drawing, sports, etc. and have won awards.
Mentally Challenged School
In June 2011, Mast. Saiesh Shivanand Naik represented Indian Team in Hand Ball at International Special Olympics – Athens & won Silver Medal.
Ms. Beena Verekar – T.T. & Mast. Aditya Naik – Basketball were selected in Indian Team to represent country at Special Olympic – Australia in Oct. 2013.
On 25th October 2010, our students participated in the International Chess Competition at Fatorda stadium and performed well.
On 24th January 2011, Drama Competition was organized by Natyashala Pune, at Kala Academy Panaji. Our students participated and won the first special prize.
On 27th & 29th January 2012, all India chess federation for the Blind and National Association for the Blind, organized National Junior Championship for the Blind 2012, which is held in Mumbai at Andheri Sports Complex. Our students participated in this championship and scored good points.
In year 2011-2012, which was our first batch of Std X, four students appeared for S.S.C. Goa Board examination. In this examination our school recorded 100% result with students scoring good marks. Mast. Laxmikant M. Parab was rewarded Dhirubhai Ambani S.S.C. Merit Reward Scheme for specially challenged category by Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation.
19 students and five staff participated in UMANG 2007 at Udaipur Rajasthan organized by West Zone Cultural Centre Udaipur Rajasthan. Animation film making workshop was organized by CHINH from New Delhi. Mast. Vishal M. Khandolkar was selected by the CHINH and got the best Jury Award from FICCI 2007.
18 students from our School participated in Special Olympics organized by 19th Round Table, Mumbai on 2nd Feb 2008. Mast. Rahul Kunkolienkar won the Gold Medal in Lemon and Spoon and Bronze Medal for Relay Race in Junior and Senior Category.
10 students participated in all India Athletic meet at Dungarpur, Rajasathan on 4th and 5th May 2008. Mast. Gautam Gaude won 3rd Prize in shot put and 1st prize in Group dance competition.
Hearing Impaired School
Our Institution organized 1st all India Athletic Meet for hearing Impaired on 18th and 19th October 2009 which was held at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, Fatorda and 600 students and staff participated from different states of India.
28th to 30th September 2008, 26 students and staff participated in Hearing Impaired Meet at Indore, Madhya Pradesh organized by Anam Prem and performed program.
4th December 2008 – which is the World Disabled Day – was celebrated in our Institution in collaboration with Social Welfare Department of Govt. of Goa. About 400 students from special schools from Goa participated.
12 students participated in special Olympic organized by 19th Round Table Mumbai. Six students appeared for S.S.C. and two students secured 1st class.
On 9th November 2009, two teachers and 10 students along with normal students, participated in ANJALI film festival at Bhuvaneshwar in Orissa. They were sponsored by Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Goa.
Daily Gomantak and Sakal organized drawing competition and our students Gauresh Gaude of I to VI and Vishal Khandolkar of VIII to X won prizes at Taluka and state level
4 students appeared S.S.C. and the school result was 100%
Mast Nitin Naik and Mast. Arvind Veer won 1st and consolation prizes respectively in Ganesh drawing competition by Navaprabha.
CRE programme for special Educator (HI) was organized in our school by Ali Yavar Jung national Institute for Hearing Impaired, Mumbai in January 2011. Special Educator participated for the same.
Our students won the 1st prize in the state level Drama competition for different abled students organized by Natyashala, Mumbai at Kala Academy Panaji on 24th January 2011.
Mast. Vishal Khandolkar gwon the 2nd prize in the drawing competition for high school students in Goa organised by Goa Art master association on 10th February 2011.
On 3rd and 4th march 2011 our HI students participated in Badminton tournament organized by special Olympic Bharat at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda and won 4 gold & Silver, 5 bronze and 6 prizes for 4th place.
Six Hearing Impaired students appeared for S.S.C. exam and all passed securing 100% results. Arvind Veer got Dhirubhai Ambani reward for standing 1st in disabled.
Mast. Gauresh Gaude won silver medal in singles and doubles in Badminton in Chennai. Competition was organized by special Olympic Bharat. He won state Level 2nd Prize in poster competition organized by Education Department.
17th to 19th February 2012 our 17 students participated in special Olympic Mumbai .
In the Art competition organized by Kalabharati Child Art institution Aurangabad, our students Sudesh Velip and Rahim, Shekh own Gold Medals.
4 hearing Impaired and 4 Visually Impaired students appeared for S.S.C. in March and all passed. Dhirubhai Ambani Reward was won by Mast. Laxmikant Parab of Visually Impaired.
